Men's Lacrosse ends historic run with semifinal loss against Keiser

(Savannah, GA) - After a weather delay that lasted nearly three hours, CUAA men's lacrosse faced off against the #1 seed Keiser University to continue play at NAIA Nationals. The Cardinals continued to play with heart and determination, but the Seahawks emerged with a 23-8 win. 

 

Conor Kinsey played the full game in net with 12 saves Keiser jumped out to an early lead with the first five goals of the contest

 

Cooper Regimbal came off the bench and scored with a quick shot on the fast break to end the shutout.

 

Conor Kinsey made two critical saves in the last minute of the first quarter. CUAA trailed 6-1 after one quarter of play. 

 

Keiser continued to extend their lead with eight more goals in the second quarter.  The Cardinals ended their run when Ross Preston slipped a quick pass in front of the net to Ryan Davis in front of the goal

 

Cooper Regimbal scored his second goal of the game in the last minute CUAA faced a 14-3 deficit at halftime.   

 

The Cardinals continued to battle hard in the third quarter with goals coming from Travis Wright, Ross Preston, and Andrew Simmons. However, Keiser led 21-6 after the third quarter.   

 

Travis Wright recorded his second marker of the game early in the fourth quarter with Ross Preston drawing the assist Conor Kinsey showed quick reflexes with a solid save at the 5:46 mark. Spencer Guppy also scored with a quick shot later in the quarter The Cardinals kept fighting until the final whistle, but Keiser would advance with a 23-8 win. 

 

The Cardinals conclude their historic season with a 12-6 record overall Their season was also memorable for having achieved the first WHAC Tournament Championship and NAIA playoff win in program history.
