(Ann Arbor, MI) The Cardinal Men's Lacrosse team picked up their third straight win in a battle against the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines, as they advance to 4-1 in conference play with a 21-5 win.
The Cardinal offense got off to a slow start before rattling off 17 straight goals against the Wolverines. The offensive production was well spread as 11 different Cardinals found the back of the net. Travis Wright was the leading scorer for the Cardinals as he racked up 5 goals and 2 assists. Copper Regimbal scored 3 times and picked up an assist. With his third goal of the game Regimbal became the Single Season Scoring Leader in program history, as he scored his 42nd goal of the season. Spencer Guppy added 3 goals and 3 assists, while Andrew Simmons and Ross Preston both scored 2 goals each. Gavin Scally, Aldo Mejia-Hans, and Cross Papadelis all contributed with 1 goal each. Marcus Vilagomez and Nick Braford scored as well, as they both picked up their first goals of the season.
Joseph Loria got the start in net for the Cardinals and put together another solid outing. The Wolverines scored two early goals against Loria before he settled in and kept the Wolverines from scoring the rest of his time in the net. With the Cardinals up big, Loria played in the field and picked up his first goal of the season.
Conor Kinsey closed out the game in the net for the Cardinals as he picked up 6 saves.
The Cardinals dominated the faceoffs 25-6, led by Gavin Scally who won 23 of his 28 faceoff attempts, and picked up 16 groundballs.
The Cardinals have a tough week ahead of them as they travel to 5th ranked Madonna on Wednesday, before their final regular season game back at home against 9th ranked Lawrence Tech on Saturday. Both games are set to begin at 1PM.
