(Grand Rapids, MI) Concordia Women's Hockey took to the road for their final regular season road game, taking on the Panthers from Davenport. The Cardinals came out strong, led by four straight goals from Mallory Collins and ultimately shut out the Panthers 6-0 for the CCWHA victory. Rose Lennon stopped all 17 shots that she faced in between the pipes for Concordia.
Mallory Collins got things started for Concordia with a goal just over halfway into the first period. The Cardinals had two power play opportunities which they were unable to convert, but they still found other ways to score as Mallory Collins scored her second with 7 seconds left in the period.
Collins scored another two goals in the second period, both at even strength and assisted by Emma Shore to make it 4-0. Then, with 17 seconds left in the period, Hannah McCarthy increased the Concordia lead to 5 by way of Makayla Steinmetz.
The Cardinals killed their only penalty of the game in the third period on their way to shutting out the Panthers. Nicole Koops, helped by Grace Dodgson, secured Concordia's sixth goal of the day with seven minutes remaining to conclude the game at 6-0, Cardinals.
Concordia will be at home one final time this season as they host the Panthers on Saturday, February 15th for Senior Night. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM with Senior Day set to begin at 6:00 PM. The Cardinals will then shift their focus to the CCWHA playoffs in Livonia, Michigan.
