Women's Hockey picks up top ten win

(Canton, MI) - Concordia women's hockey hosted University of Michigan on Friday night to begin a weekend series.  The Cardinals were able to come away with a 3-0 victory over a top ten ranked team in the country!

Rose Lennon played a complete game in net in what was arguably her best game in a Cardinal uniform. She added another shutout to her resume, this time with multiple game-shifting saves. Makayla Steinmetz put the Cardinals up 1-0 with great assists from Skylar Croft and Sydney Orkisz. That goal shifted the momentum of the game, and they added some insurance when Mallory Collins found the back of the net from a great Grace Dodgson pass.

Mallory Collins found the net again in the second period, this time off assists from Steinmetz and Dodgson. The Wolverines looked defeated, and momentum really seemed to shift the Cardinals way.

The third period was quiet on the scoresheet, but saw some great saves and defense on both sides. Other than a late penalty called on the Cardinals, the score remained 3-0 and Concordia was able to bring in the top ten victory!

Concordia will is playing at Yost Ice Arena tonight against the Wolverines.
