Women's Hockey drops close match with #10 Michigan

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Women's Hockey team traveled down the road to the historic Yost Arena for a matchup against #10 University of Michigan for the second straight day. The Cardinals couldn't repeat the upset they pulled on Saturday night as they were downed 1-0 by the Wolverines.

The only score in the period came off the stick of Reya Dila for the Wolverines as she beat Cardinal goalie Rose Lennon just four minutes into the game.

Lennon (4-9-0) was a wall for the rest of the night as she put up a total of 43 saves throughout the game and would be aided by the defense to not allow a goal in any of the three power play opportunities the Wolverines came across.

The Cardinals head back to the ice this upcoming weekend as they will hold a home-and-home series with Grand Valley with the Cardinals hosting the Lakers on Friday night.
