(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Softball team is headed to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament tomorrow. The Cardinals are making their third straight appearance at the conference tournament.
The tournament features a double-elimination bracket. All teams will play a pair of games on Wednesday and two teams will be eliminated. Thursday features four teams being eliminated with the final consolation game being played and two teams moving on to the Championship game on Friday.

About the Warriors
Indiana Tech is led by Stephanie Zimny who is in her ninth season as the Head Coach for the Warriors and has a 193-195-1 record at IIT. The Warriors enter the tournament with a 28-14 overall record and a 16-8 WHAC record.
IIT's offense is paced by Kiersten Delaney and Maire Trouba who have hit 0.387 and 0.364 batting average this year with 43 and 47 hits respectively. Delaney also leads the team with 31 RBI's. Melissa Cabrera and Carlye Walter have recorded the second and third most RBI's with 27 and 25 respectively.
Savannah Bravo and Carlye Walter are the top two pitchers for the Warriors as they have a 13-7 and 13-5 record respectively. Bravo has struck out 134 batters on the year with Walter striking out 59. Their four pitchers have a combined ERA of 3.41 and a 0.285 batting average against.
About the Cardinals
The Cardinals enter the tournament with a 20-17-1 overall record and a 15-8-1 WHAC record. Head Coach Hailey Cavanagh is in her 8th season leading the team and has accumulated a 216-152-1 record at CUAA.
The Cardinal offense is paced by their cleanup hitter, Faith Cramton. Cramton on the year is batting 0.456 with 15 doubles, 7 home runs, and 43 RBIs. Katie Tobias is another key hitter for the squad with a 0.372 average and 40 RBIs. Payton Lewis has recorded 48 hits on the year, which is second on the team, while Elyse Brittain hit 6 home runs.
The Cardinals pitching is headed by Paige Anderson, who's pitched 112.1 innings this season and has a 3.05 ERA and has a 11-6 record. Elyse Brittain has a 3-5 record with a pair of saves over 60.1 innings with 43 strikeouts. Senior Hannah Duchene earned a 4-2 recorded over 40 innings.
WHAC Round Up
Madonna finished the regular season with their second straight 22-0 season and earned the conference's first autobid. Cornerstone finished second in the WHAC standings with a 18-6 record in WHAC games, with Northwestern Ohio (17-6), Indiana Tech (16-8), and Concordia (15-8-1) all rounding out the top 5.
Cleary (13-11), Aquinas (12-12), and UM-Dearborn (10-12-1) round out the tournament bracket.
Previous Matchup
The Cardinals won both games this season by scores of 7-5 and 9-4.
Game one saw the Cardinals score four runs in the bottom of the third inning to go up 4-1. Katie Tobias and Faith Cramton had back to back RBI doubles for those runs. The Cardinals got some much needed insurance runs in the sixth inning on Tobias' and Cramton's RBI singles and a wild pitch. Elyse Brittain earned her first save after coming in with the bases loaded to end the Warriors comeback attempt.
The second game of the doubleheader had CUAA start the game right away with a three-run first inning on a Cramton double and then scoring on a throwing error. The Cardinals would then put up six runs between the third and fourth innings. Cramton hit a pair of RBI singles, Maddy Grueter hit a Sacrifice Fly, Elyse Brittain homered, and Tobias recorded another RBI single.
