(Thursday December 9th, Ann Arbor, MI) - The Lady Cardinals Volleyball team had their awards banquet Thursday night and 7 different Cardinals received awards. The team MVP this year was Marian High School grad Ashley Hart. Ashley also earned Honorable Mention All-Conference. This season Hart recorded 341 kills this season to lead the team. She also led the team in hitting percentage, points scored (419.5), solo blocks (25), block assists (81), and total blocks (106). Ashley was second in the WHAC in blocks per set and was only .01 behind the leader.
The Most Improved Player Award went to Linden High School grad Ali Miller. Ali was second on the team in digs (253) and service aces (24). Miller also recorded 17 block assists and 84 kills on the year. The Best Defensive Player award went to Bedford High School graduate Danielle Guss. Danielle also earned Academic All-American Honors. This season Danielle led the Cards in digs with 400 and was second on the team in points scored (258). Danielle also recorded 235 kills, 31 assists, and 11 aces this season.
Two Cardinals earned Champions of Character honors for the WHAC; Cardinal freshman, Stephanie Emington, and Cardinal Head Coach Justin Martin.
Cardinals' senior from Linden High School, Shannon Murphy was named to the Academic All-Conference Team and Cardinal junior, Kylie Golden was named to the Academic All-American Team.
