Cards Winning Streak Snapped
(Thursday October 21st, Grand Rapids, MI) - The Lady Cards were back in action Thursday against the Panthers of Davenport University. Davenport was 17-12 on the season before the match and fifth in the conference. The Cards were coming off of a two game winning streak and have looked solid in their last two matches. Earlier in the season Davenport beat the Cardinals in four sets but the Cards had much more momentum going into this match then the last one.

The Cards started out slow as they dropped the first set to the Panthers 25-13. The Panthers held strong and won the second set 25-14. The third set however was closer as the game went back a fourth for a bit. The Panthers did pull out the victory winning 25-18 in the last set.

Leading the way for the Cardinals was junior Danielle Guss (Bedford High School) with 13 digs and 6 kills. Junior Jaymee Wise (Woodbridge High School, CA) recorded 5 kills and 2 aces for the Cards, while junior Ashley Hart (Marian High School) record 7 kills and 3 more block assists. Hart leads the WHAC in blocks per game!

The Cards have a few days off and won't be back in action until October 26th when they play #16 in the Nation Indiana Tech at home at 7:00pm. The Cardinals only have two more home matches this season so come on out and cheer on your Cards!
