Men's golf makes first spring appearance to post second best two-day total in program history

(Augusta, Mich.) The men's golf team took to the links for the first time this spring. The Cardinals traveled to Augusta, Mich. to participate in the Battle at Beford. The event took place at the Bedford Valley Country Club under perfect weather conditions. The Cardinals finished fifth overall in the two-day event with a total team score of 665. Many Cardinals posted scores that rank among the program's best including several two-day totals.

 Josh Line led the Cardinals with 21st place finish overall with a two-day total of 163. His 80 in the first round tied his season low. Josh's two-day total now ranks 4th best all-time in the program.

Nick Althouse finished a stroke behind posting a 164 overall. His 77  in the second round was the team best of the tournament. His two day total ranks 5th best overall in the program.

Dalton Steigler posted a consistent 83 each day for a 166 total in his first appearance as a Cardinal.

Will Heiber and Andrew Burk tied their career lows posting an 84 and 88 respectively. Their two-day totals of 174 and 182 rounded out the Cardinals scoring. Zach Burk set a new career low of an 86 in the second round scoring as an individual.

The team's scoring total of 665 now ranks second overall in the Cardinals record books. The single day total of 327 is the seventh best in program history.

The Cardinals will return to action on Tuesday, April 13th when they travel to Ottawa Lake, Mich. to play in the Lourdes Invitational.
