Ullenbruch & Kurth earn Athlete of the Week honors for WHAC & NCCAA

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced the Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week of January 6-12 and Concordia Cardinals Jayde Ullenbruch took home the WHAC & NCCAA Field Athlete of the Week honors, while Michaela Kurth earned NCCAA Track Athlete of the Week. 

 

Ullenbruch, a sophomore from Port Huron, Michigan, took home two first-place finishes at the John Flamino Classic on Saturday. In her sole field event, Ullenbruch competed in the Long Jump and had a season-best 4.99 meters, which is an NCCAA qualifying mark, which is the seventh-fastest mark in the NCCAA this season. Ullenbruch's second event saw her run the 60-meter hurdles where she ran a 9.59, which was also good for an NCCAA qualifying mark and is the third fastest mark in the NCCAA this season. 

 

 

Kurth, a sophomore from Ypsilanti, Michigan, had two top-six finishes at the John Flamino Classic on Saturday as she competed in the 800-meter run and the Mile run. The 800-meter saw her place second with a time of 2:45.74, while she placed sixth in the Mile run with a time of 6:08.03. 

 

 

The Track & Field teams will be on the road at the Concordia Polar Dog Invitational on Friday, January 17.
