Cardinals head to NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's and Women's Track and Field teams are headed to Cedarville University for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday.

Three different Cardinals on the women's side qualified for the weight throw led by Quinn Stefanski with a 14.63 meter throw, which is 7th best in the NCCAA. Morgan Jenkins and Maya Freeman both qualified with marks of 13.04 and 12.39 meters respectively.

 

Three men qualified in weight throw as well, with two of them putting up top-10 distances in the NCCAA this season. Ryan Reynolds led the group with a throw of 15.46 meters followed by Scott Smith with 14.34 meters to make them 5th and 9th in the NCCAA currently. Jesse Lietzow also qualified with a mark of 12.83 meters.

 

In shot put, Jesse Lietzow has the 13th farthest throw in the NCCAA this season with a mark of 13.49 meters. Scott Smith will also throw in the event with his mark of 12.26 meters.

 

Emma Puwal recorded qualifying times in the 200m and 400m with times of 28.36 and 1:05.26 respectively.

 

Zak Schroeder will be running in two events, including the 400m (53.34) and 800m (2:09.41).

 

Jayde Ullenbruch qualified in three different events, including the 60m (8.26), 60m Hurdles (9.58) and long jump (4.99 meters). Her 60m Hurdles time was the 8th best in the NCCAA and her long jump mark was 12th.

 

Macee Ripke and Amanda Fogo both qualified in the 3K and 5K, including 5K times of 21:07.47 and 21:47.12 respectively.

 

Rachael Byers, Chloe Gunter, Michaela Kurth, and Grace Finley made the trip and will be running in the Distance Medley Relay and the 4x800.
