(August 6, 2007 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- Depth should not be a problem for Concordia volleyball coach Dan Kirchhoff this coming season. An already strong recruiting class was deepened further with the signing of Melanie Cvetkovski of Melvindale High School.
Cvetkovski was a three-sport star in high school as she played all four years for the MHS basketball, softball and volleyball squads.
While she was the Most Valuable Player in her junior and senior years for both the basketball and softball teams, it is on the volleyball court that she will continue her athletic career.
Cvetkovski was named All-League twice, All-Region Honorable Mention her junior season, All-Region her senior season, as well as All-Downriver her final prep year.
"It is pretty obvious that Melanie has a lot of athleticism in the fact that she not only played, but excelled in three different sports all four years of high school," said Kirchhoff. "As we look to compete within this conference, we are going to need players who have the ability and potential that Melanie brings to the program. We hope that she can adjust to the collegiate level quickly and start producing for as as well as she did for her high school team."
