(Ann Arbor, MI) The Concordia University Football team dropped their third consecutive game Saturday moving them to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-States Football Association.
CUAA struggled to get anything going throughout the day. The Cards managed just one drive for substantial yardage when quarterback Tyler Fehler (SO/Fruitport, MI) completed 4 passes on 5 attempts for 76 yards. The drive was highlighted by a 48 yard passing connection to Corey Turner (SR/Woodhaven, MI). The drive stalled on a blocked field goal attempt from 26 yards out.
The Marian Knights were firing on all cylinders offensively as they displayed why they are ranked in the top 10 nationally in several statistical categories. MU scored on seven of their sixteen possessions throughout the day. An offense that averaged just under 550 yards per game, mustered 484 for the day.
Tyler Fehler ended the day with 12 completions on 27 attempts for 145 yards. 8 of those connections were to Corey Turner for 110 yards.
Defensively, Nick Holshoe (JR/Hopkins, MI) intercepted his nation's best 7th pass this year. Additionally, Holshoe tallied 7 total tackles. Ty Peterson (JR/Milan, MI) led the Cards with 9 total tackles while Demarcus Bunn (JR/Belleville, MI) added 8.
The Cardinals will take on Missouri Baptist University on the road next week before heading home for their season finale against Lindenwood University-Belleville.
