Cardinal Football Opens 2016-2017 Recruiting Class with Pummell

The Concordia Football Program is proud to announce that Tyler Pummell, an offensive linemen from Mohawk HS in Sycamore, Ohio, is the first commit for the 2016 football season. When Coach Pries came to Concordia in 2013 he made an emphasis on recruiting athletes of good character—a focus the staff has continued. Coach Pries commented on Tyler saying, "He is a three sport athlete and four year varsity football letter winner who will be an excellent addition to the Cardinals offensive line. We are excited to kick off the 2016 recruiting class with a commitment from Tyler to be a part of the Cardinal Family."

While at Mohawk HS Tyler was a four time reciepient of the Iron Man award and was a 3-time Squat winner. He was a successful thrower on the track team, twice being named the team's MVP. Outside of athletics, Tyler was involved with his church youth group and Vacation Bible School.

Tyler's parents are Doug and Sue Pummell and he has a sister, Jackie. Tyler will enroll in the Exercise Science program next fall.

Welcome to Concordia, Tyler!
