The women's cross country team returned to action on Saturday hosting the Cardinal Old School Invite. The two senior Cardinals Gabby Porter and Abbey Bentz led the way, taking first and second respectively. Their performance also led the Cardinals to a first place team finish defeating Lourdes, 23-33.
Porter was strong from the start and took advantage of having the home trail. With hay bales serving as obstacles in the race Porter pulled away in the final quarter of a mile with a time of 20:07. Bentz continued her strong senior campaign to finish ten seconds behind Porter with a time of 20:17. Bentz and Porter ran together for most of the race and was the second meet this season the duo finished in the top two.
Anna Glomski came out strong with a time of 23:41 to help the Cardinals team. Meagan Espinoza finished just a second behind Glomski with a time of 23:42 helping to round out scoring for the Cardinals respectively.
The Cardinals will take a week to resume training before traveling to Taylor University for their last meet on October 24th at 12:00pm.
