Volleyball falls to Lourdes in straight sets

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Cardinals hosted Lourdes in a WHAC divisional matchup on Wednesday night, marking one of two remaining home games for Concordia. The Grey Wolves jumped out to a quick lead and beat the Cardinals in straight sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-23). Concordia will return to action on October 25th as they travel to Adrian, MI to take on Siena Heights.

Here's How it Happened:

1st Set: Lourdes jumped out to an early lead that was too much to overcome for the Cardinals. The Grey Wolves took set #1 by a score of 25-15. Nicole Evans (FR/Bristol, IN) and Alisha Anderson (SR/Dexter, MI) recorded 3 kills apiece for Concordia. Hailey McCourt (FR/Toledo, OH) tallied 5 assists in the first set. (CUAA 0, LU 1)

2nd Set: A late push by Concordia in the 2nd set fell short as Lourdes came out on top 25-15. Rebecca McDonald (SR/Linden, MI) led the Cardinals attack in set #2, recording 4 kills. Kylie Frank (JR/Chelsea, MI) brought her assist total up to 9 after a 6 assist second set. (CUAA 0, LU 2)

3rd Set: Concordia did not go down without a fight as they dropped set #3 by a score of 25-23. After a back and forth battle all set, the Grey Wolves were able to come out on top. Alisha Anderson led the Cardinals with 7 kills while Kylie Frank recorded 14 assists and 11 digs. (CUAA 0, LU 3)

The Cardinals will be on the road for their next two matches before returning home for their final home match of the season on October 28th against Rochester College. Concordia will face off against (RV) Siena Heights University (Oct. 25) and Northwestern Ohio (Oct. 27) for their next two road matches.
