Men's Track & Field compete in the final CUAA Alumni Classic

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The men's track and field team hosted their final Alumni Legacy meet. The Men earned nine new personal records, three new collegiate marks and two season best efforts.

Hayden Prone (Sophomore; Fort Gratiot, MI) ran to two personal best efforts in both the 100 and the 200. Prone ran to a new personal best time in the 100 by finishing in 12.30. He also finished in the 200 with a time of 25.30. Also competing in the 200 was Zak Schroeder (Junior; Napoleon, OH) in a time of 24.60 and making his collegiate debut, along with Jackson Miles (Senior; Brighton, MI) in a time of 25.20 seconds.

Schroeder made his return to the track and the 400 meter with an opening season time of 54.19 seconds.

Dominic Catallo (Sophomore; Westland, MI) ran the 800 in 2:14, while also running to a new personal best time in the 1500 with a time of 4:26. Eric Breidert (Freshmen; Wenatachee, WA) also ran to a new personal record in the 1500 with a final time of 5:03.

The 4x100 relay team of Ryan Reynolds (Junior; Northville, MI), Scott Smith (Senior; Saginaw, MI), Jesse Leitzow (Sophomore; St. Clair Shores, MI) and Prone finished in a time of 50.47 seconds.

In throwing events, Reynolds led Discus with a throw of 33.68 meters, followed by Dawson Kolka (Freshman; Sanford, MI) with a throw of 31.64 meters. Gerard Noel (Sophomore; Canton, MI) finished in 17 place with a distance of 30.48 meters.

Smith finished in fourth place in Javelin with a throw of 47.37 meters and a season best effort. Kolka threw a new personal record of 30.41 meters and Breidert made his collegiate debut with a distance of 21.65 meters.

Reynolds led three Cardinals to finish in the top 10 in Hammer throw. Reynolds threw a new personal record distance of 44.28 meters. Kolka continued his improvement on the weekend with another personal record with a htrow of 39.35 meters. Lietzow  threw a season best with a distance of 38.61 meters. Leitzow also competed in shot put and finished in eighth place with a throw of 13.01 meters.

Miles also competed in high jump, where he jumped to a personal record height of 1.60 meters.

The Men's team will compete in the WHAC Championships at Siena Heights on Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2.
