(Adrian, MI) - Concordia men's soccer traveled to rival Siena Heights on Wednesday night for a rivalry contest played under the lights. After a scoreless first half, both teams netted two goals in the second half for a 2-2 draw.
Dario Cela played the full game in net making two saves. The Cardinals took a 7-3 edge in shots in the first half along with recording four corner kick chances. Evan Lock directed a header on net later in the half, but the contest remained scoreless at halftime.
The Cardinals struck first in the 48th minute when Elijah Macke found the back of the net with Bryce Schaner assisting. Siena Heights responded with back-to-back goals in the 58th and 60thminutes to take a 2-1 lead. CUAA countered just over 30 seconds later when Bryce Schaner scored an unassisted goal with a powerful shot to tie the game.
CUAA continued attacking the net with Elijah Macke taking a shot that created a promising rebound. After a corner kick by Carter Kerbawy, John Clark had a header on net that nearly went in. Despite the Cardinals keeping pressure in the Siena Heights zone, the contest ended in a 2-2 tie.
CUAA will travel to #23 Madonna University this Saturday, October 5th, for a 2pm game.
