Cardinals celebrate Student Worker Appreciation Week

In celebration of Student Worker Appreciation Week at Concordia University, we take time to thank the many student workers that serve the athletic department. Over 30 student workers contributed hours to the athletic department ranging from work on the front lines to behind the scenes.

Director of Athletics Lonnie Pries works directly with many student workers throughout the year and is thankful for the positive contributions. "We are incredibly thankful for the dedication and commitment of our student workers in the athletic department. We are blessed to have them be a part of our game days, our behind the scenes projects, and in many other places throughout Concordia Athletics.'

Students worker tasks may consist of but not limited to facility supervision, statistical inputting, graphic design, website content, social media coverage, and game day coverage. Specific tasks and events have allowed students experiential learning opportunities such as the annual Cardinal Golf Classic and Hall of Fame Gala that raises over $60,000 annually for the department. Students are able to apply what they learn in the classroom and in their course work through writing game recaps, photography, and providing play by play content on live stream game broadcasts.

The Student Life department at Concordia has led iniatives throughout the week to highlight the many student workers that make Concordia a great place to work and learn.
