WHAC CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP: Women's Golf wraps up season at WHAC Championship

(Augusta, MI) - The Concordia Women's Golf team wrapped up their season yesterday as they competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship.

 

The event featured each golfer competing in three rounds, with two being played on Tuesday and the final 18 holes played on Wednesday. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

Shaylin LeBlanc was the top individual golfer for the team as she totaled a score of 260 throughout the three rounds with scores of 88-87-85 respectively. Her three-day total of 260 is the fourth-lowest mark in program history. 

 

Rachel Yuhas was next up for the Cardinals as she finished two strokes behind LeBlanc. Yuhas' three rounds were scored 88-90-84 respectively for a 262 total score. Her three-day total of 262 is tied for the sixth-lowest mark in program history. 

 

The final CUAA golfer was Alana Mortimer who scored 114-112-115 throughout the three different rounds. She totaled 341 strokes in the tournament which is a personal record. 

 

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Lawrence Tech took home their first-ever WHAC Championship this season after besting Northwestern Ohio by 15 strokes with a team score of 939. 

 

Tanawan Vetchayanvivat from Northwestern Ohio took home the top individual spot and was named WHAC Golfer of the Year. 

 

WHAC HONORS

Rachel Yuhas was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The senior was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 

The WHAC announced their All-Academic teams, which involve being a sophomore in Academic standing and having a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The four Cardinals honored were Amelia Black, Alana Mortimer, Callie Wabeke, and Rachel Yuhas
