Men's cross country concludes fall at Midwest Cross Country Challenge

The men's cross country concluded their fall competition schedule on Saturday at the Midwest Challenge. The meet was hosted by Taylor University and took place on the grounds of the campus in Upland, Ind. The men's team participated in the purple race that featured twelve other NAIA schools throughout the Midwest. The Cardinals recorded a team score of 249 which was 11th overall.  

 

Geoffrey Wallace continued his strong freshman campaign with a personal record. Wallace's 8k time of 30:21 was almost a minute faster than his previous best. Wallace took 36th overall in the competitive field to lead the Cardinals.

 

Adam DiMaggio and Avery Sanchez were the next to finish for the Cardinals. They finished 56 and 57 respectively with times of 31:!8 and 31:27. It was DiMaggio's fastest time of the season and Sanchez nearly missed his personal record by seven seconds. Theodore Eising set a personal record by nearly thirty seconds to post a 31:47 which placed him 60th overall. Noah Starkey rounded out the Cardinals scoring with a time of 33:24.

 

Indiana Kokomo took first place in the purple race with 51 points. Havi Carroll from Rochester University took home the individual honors with a time of 26:59.

 

The Cardinals will now break for the fall before gearing up for indoor season. The WHAC Cross Country Championships will take place on March 26th at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
