(Chicago, IL) The Concordia Ann Arbor cheer looked to bring home their third consecutive Concordia Invitational Tournament Championship on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois. The competition was hosted by Concordia University Chicago that featured all four teams represented in the tournament in the forms of Concordia Chicago, Concordia Nebraska, and Concordia Wisconsin. The Cardinals took home the championship in the competition with a score of 96.00.
The Cardinals blew away the four teams scoring over with a score differential of 13.33 points separating 1st and 2nd place. Concordia Chicago took second place with a total of 82.67. Concordia Nebraska placed third with a total of 74.32. Concordia Chicago finished in fourth place with a total of 62.67. Concordia Ann Arbor recorded a raw total of 96.00 and performing flawlessly by receiving no deductions.
Head Coach Kate said, "CIT is always a strong performance for us. The energy of the team and the crowd makes it one of our favorite events of the year." Coach Edge also said that, "We were proud of their high scoring and zero deduction routine."
The Cardinals will have a week off until they return to the mat on Sunday, February 2nd, as they compete in the Saints Showdown in Grand Rapids. The competition will be hosted by Aquinas College.
