Rachel Hinz - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Rachel Hinz joined the Women's Soccer Staff in January 2010. Alumni of Concordia, Rachel played and started all four years (2002-2006) for the Lady Cards. Her duties as a Captain started in her sophomore year, when Head Coach Piotr Westwalewicz started coaching the team, and she continued to lead the team through her senior year. She was named to the NAIA All-Academic Team. She was a part of the 2005-2006 season which has been one of the Lady Cards best seasons to date.
Prior to joining the Cardinal squad, she was a four year Varsity Letter winner at St. Mary Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan. While there she was named to the All-District Team and Academic Team and was part of the team's first League Championship title. In her senior year she led the team in passing and was named to the Monroe All- Region Team and the All-District Team. Rachel also played four seasons for the Monroe Angels Club Team.
Hinz graduated from CUAA in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Art Education, with a Psychology minor and a Lutheran Teacher's Diploma. She took her first Call to Lutheran High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. In addition to teaching, she coached the Varsity Girls Soccer team. In the two seasons that she coached, the team posted a school record and boasted winning seasons. In both seasons, the team made it to the State Tournament and in the latter season, to the semi-finals. She also coached the Varsity Tennis Team.
Currently, Hinz serves as an undergraduate admission counselor at Concordia University and is entering her third year in that position. She also celebrates a Ministry Milestone as she begins her fifth year in LCMS Church Work. She is in the midst of completing her Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction at Concordia.
