Murali Nair - Head Coach - 2nd Season
Dr. Murali Nair returns for his second season at the helm of the Concordia University men's soccer program. In only one season, Nair has severely changed the culture and success of the Cardinals as they finished year one with two victories and three ties, the most success the program experienced in 12 seasons. The first win of the Nair era, snapped a 64-game winless streak and with much of the team returning for the 2009 season, there is great optimism on campus for a rejuvenated Cardinal program.

Prior to coming to Concordia, Nair served as the Eastern Michigan University Head Club Soccer Coach with a stint as the Ypsilanti High School coach prior to his time overseeing the Eagle program.

In addition to leading the club team at Eastern Michigan University, Nair has served as a professor and program coordinator for EMU since 2001.  He currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Director of the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance; a position that he has held since June of 2005.

Nair brings over twenty years of soccer experience to his new position with the Cardinals.  He served as the head coach of the Malaysian National under 23 team for seven years before traveling to the University of Virginia where Nair earned his Ph.d. in motor learning.  While in Charlottesville, Virginia Nair coached an under 19 travel express team from 1996-2000.

While in Michigan, Murali Nair coached the Ann Arbor Arsenal under 13 premier team and also served at Ypsilanti High School serving as the head men's soccer coach for the Braves for three seasons.  Nair earned three degrees from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia between the years of 1978 and 1990 before arriving in the United States.

Entering his second season, Hosey has already placed his mark on the program as the Cardinals are gearing for a move up the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings.

Prior to coming to Concordia, Hosey served as the Director of Coaching with the CW3 Soccer Club, as well as being the Academy Director and Trainer for the program.

Hosey, who hold a National FIFA license, also was head coach of Premier teams in the MPSL for CW3 and the Lakes Area Soccer Association. Hosey has also served as a trainer for several high schools in the Ann Arbor area.

His experience doesn't just come from coaching, as Hosey was an accomplished player having played on the Michigan State University squad as a collegian as well as being a member of the Michigan Wolves, Michigan Marauders, Canton Celtics and the Livonia Bullets. During his time with the Bullets, Hosey enjoyed three state championships (2001, 2002, 2004) as well as a national championship in 2006.
