Karen Graves - Head Coach - 1st Season

Karen Graves is in her first year as head volleyball coach at Concordia University Ann Arbor. As an alum of the university, Coach Graves is excited to return to her alma mater and is looking forward to developing the volleyball program into a Nationally competitive program in the NAIA. Graves played volleyball for four years at Concordia University Ann Arbor, under the tutelage of Coach Kim Berrington, who is now the Head Women's Coach at Eastern Michigan University. Coach Graves had a successful playing career at Concordia, where she was captain for multiple years and earned many accolades including, WHAC Player of the Year, 4-time 1st Team All-WHAC, NCCAA All-American, 2-time NAIA Great Lakes Region All-Second Team, multiple All-Tournament team selections, NAIA, NCCAA, and WHAC All-Academic, as well as being 7th in the NAIA for service aces.

After having coached at various levels, Graves took a break from the volleyball to attend Law School at Wayne State University where she earned her Juris Doctorate and became licensed to practice law in 2004. She had since returned to volleyball and was the head volleyball coach at Marygrove College for the last two seasons before coming back to her alma mater.

Coach Graves resides in Belleville with her husband Carl, who is the Women's Basketball Coach at Madonna University, along with their twin boys, James and Jeffrey.
