(Friday October 1st & 2nd, Adrian, MI & Detroit, MI) - Concordia came up short against conference opponent Siena Heights last Friday. Game 1 was very close but the Cardinals just fell just short. Game 2 Concordia came out with the will to win going up 24-16 but Siena Heights stormed back to win 26-24. After the heart breaking loss in game 2 Siena took advantage of a deflated Concordia team and went up 17-7 in game three and ending up winning the game25-18. The Cards felt this was a game they should have won but just couldn't find a groove on Friday. Ashley Hart (Marian High School) lead the team in kills with 11 and in block assists with 5. Hannah Shiff (Pioneer High School), Stephanie Emington (Reed City High School), and Ali Miller (Linden High School) all had 8 digs for the Cards.

Concordia continued their play on Saturday October 2nd at the Marygrove College Invitational. The Lady Cards started the tournament against Adrian College. Concordia stormed out to a 24-16 lead but again was snake bitten for the second time in 2 days and lost the game 26-24. Games 2 and 3 were highly contested but Adrian edged out both victories by a score of 25-20 and 25-21.

In the second game of the day Concordia managed to rebound in a 4 set victory against Marygrove College. The Lady Cards are now 4-0 lifetime against the Mustangs. Marygrove had just lost a 5 set heart breaker to Rochester earlier on the day and they gave Concordia all they could muster but ran out of steam. Concordia won the match 25-21, 25-15, 24-26, and 25-12.

Last match of the day Concordia faced rival Rochester College. Both teams came out aggressive trading blows in the first two games but Rochester edged out the Cards in both games. The first few points of game 3 was the best volleyball seen all day with both teams trading great swings with even more amazing digs but unfortunately 4 matches for the Cards in 2 days caught up to them as they lost game 3.

On the day Ashley Hart lead the Cardinals with 27 kills and 9 block assists on the day, while Danielle Guss (Bedford High School) recorded 36 digs and 17 kills, and Ali Miller recorded 28 digs, 13 kills, and 3 aces on the day.

Lady Cardinals return to the court on October 5th at nationally ranked Indiana Tech #14. Good Luck Cards!
