(Saturday 4th, 2010 Mequon, WI) - The Concordia Invitational Volleyball Tournament this past weekend featured three Concordia Volleyball teams from across the Midwest. The three teams involved were Concordia University Chicago, Concordia University Wisconsin, and our very own Concordia University Ann Arbor. The tournament saw our Lady Cards lose in the first match to Concordia University Mequon in straight sets losing 18-25, 20-25, and 23-25. Our Lady Cards came back with vengeance in match two against Concordia Chicago winning in straight sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-19.

In the first match the Cards just couldn't get out of their own way and had too many errors. The ladies played extremely hard and turned in on in game 3 but it was too little too late and they just couldn't get the "W." Leading the way for the Cardinals was Junior Danielle Guss (Lamberstville, MI) with 8 kills and 21 digs while fellow Junior Jaymee Wise (Irvine, CA) had 32 assists and 8 kills of her own.

Concordia bounced back in its second match against Concordia University Chicago and dominated all 3 games. Coach Justin Martin stated that "the team had the most fire in this match then in any other match all year. We dominated at the net!" Ashley Hart (Birmingham, MI) led the attack with 14 kills and 8 total blocks while Danielle Guss had her second stellar game of the day with 9 kills and 18 digs. Junior Ali Miller (Linden, MI) turned in her best game so far this year with a hitting percentage of.363 and a season high of 13 digs.

Concordia finishes the day 1-1 on the day and are now 3-7 on the season.
