(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia University Ann Arbor is proud to announce the signing of Kevin Collica. Kevin will join the Cardinal baseball program this fall and bring with him some much needed depth to the middle infield and also provide some support off the mound. The right hander played under Coach John Graybill at Anchor Bay High School and batted .417 his senior season.
Assistant Coach Ryan McCosky stated that "when I saw Kevin play in the playoffs last spring I was really impressed by his athleticism and aggressiveness on the field. I feel that Kevin has the tools to be successful at this level." Coach John Graybill commented on the signing of Collica by having this to say about Kevin; "Kevin is a very hard worker and I am glad it has paid off for him."
The Cardinals also added some depth to their bullpen with the addition of Ryan Guy a lanky right hander from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn. Ryan played for Rob Fay at Edsel Ford. When talking with Coach Fay about Ryan and other local recruits we both agreed that Ryan was a "diamond in the rough" kind of player. Ryan has a young arm and will really benefit from getting experience through our JV program.
Coach McCosky commented that "we are excited about the addition of both players and really feel that they bring with them potential on the field, but also have what it takes to excel in the classroom."
