Caleb his family and coaches at signing day.
(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia
University Ann Arbor is pleased to announce the signing of a dual sport athlete
Caleb Mims. Mims will be participating
in both Track and Field and Football for the Cardinals. Mims lettered two years in track and one year
in football at Southfield Lathrup High school in South Lathrup, MI.
Caleb was captain of his track team for two years, and was a
member of the County Championship team in 2008. Caleb ran the 100m, 200m,
and 400m. Mims and his relay team also qualified for states in 2010 in the 4 x 100m
and 4 x 200m. Caleb has been running track since the 4th grade and has won many
AAU State events in the 400m dash. Caleb participated in
the Junior Olympic Games for four years straight.
Mims also played running back and corner back on the varsity football
team where the team fell just short of the playoffs in the 2009-2010 season.
Caleb received two Honorable awards his senior year finishing
up the year with a 3.1 GPA. Caleb has a passion for art and wants to apply his
talent in Architecture. He was accepted into The University of Michigan summer
and spring architecture programs in 2009 and 2010
to further accelerate his learning of Architecture.
Caleb played the saxophone in the school
band receiving freshman and sophomore of the year awards and was also
section leader for 2 years. Mims also
volunteered in hosting AAU track meets for two years at South Lathrup. He will be a welcome addition to the Cardinal
family.
