(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia University has added a major offensive weapon in the signing of Jessie Barns from Grove City Christian School in Grove City, OH. Barns was a member of the inaugural season at Grove City and will now do the same for the Concordia University Cardinals. It is rare to be a member of two start-up programs, but that is the type of leadership that Jessie will bring to Concordia.

Barns was given numerous awards as the running back at Grove City Christian. He was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, 1^st Team All-Ohio in both 2008 and 2009. He was named 2^nd team All-Ohio in 2007. Jessie was named All-District, All-Metro, and Most Valuable Player all 4 years in High School, and led his team to the Regional Championship in 2009.

Jessie is much more than just a football player however. He was a founder of the Little Eagles Sports Mentoring Program, Who's Who in America, National Academy of Achievement in Leadership, Service, and Language. He was also named the Passion of Sacrifice Award winner at Grove City Christian as well. The Cardinals are looking for great things from Jessie in the future and are excited to have him at Concordia University!
