(May 28, 2010 - Ann Arbor, Mich) - The women's soccer team
headed into the off-season looking to become a deeper and more talent rich
team. The program is heading in the
right direction with the addition of four more players to the fall roster.
Alexa Budd: A
four year varsity player from Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, MI, Alexa will
be joining her sister Betty who will be a senior teammate of hers in the
fall. Alexa will prove to be a valuable
asset with her strong work ethic and familiarity of the Cardinal soccer
program.
As a prepster, Alexa scored the most goals in program
history with 25. She was also the leading scorer for three years and a four
year team captain. An All-Sectional
player for two years, Alexa will be studying Art Education at Concordia. The daughter of Amy and Randy Budd, Alexa
also has another sister, Christine.
Erica Eneix:
Coach Piotr Westwalewicz added some depth to the center midfield
position with the signing of Erica.
Erica was a member of the Goodrich High School soccer team as well as
the Clarkston Select Soccer Club that was voted the MSYSA Team of the Month
back in February of 2009. Erica was also
a member of the U-16 club that went undefeated as well as claimed the title of
league champions.
Erica has one sibling, Elizabeth and is the daughter of
Kathy and Mark Eneix. She will be
pursuing a degree in Secondary Education in hopes of becoming a history
teacher.
Andrea DeVisser:
One of two junior college additions, Andrea DeVisser will bring an
instant defensive presence to the soccer lineup for coach Piotr
Westwalewicz. As a prep player, Andrea
was Hartland's defensive MVP for two seasons as well as the recipient of the
Coach's Award. In addition, DeVisser was
named to the KVC All-Conference team twice and has been an All-District
selection and four year member of the KVC All-Academic team.
DeVisser will major in Business at Concordia and has one
brother, Grant. She is the daughter of
Anita and Sherwood DeVisser.
Maggie Harris:
Joining DeVisser from Schoolcraft College is another defensive standout
in Harris. Harris is a 2010 graduate of
Schoolcraft college where she spent four semesters on the dean's list as a
member of the women's soccer team. While
at Schoolcraft, Maggie's team made it to the National Tournament in 2008 and
2009.
Harris was a three year varsity player at Pinckney Community
High School under head coach Aaron Humphrey and is the daughter of Diane and
Ron Harris. Maggie has one sister,
Alyson and is a Business Administration major.
