(May 12, 2010 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- The Concordia outdoor track team registered 24 team points in the conference tournament, staking a claim that the team will continue to move up the standings as head coach Steve Montgomery grows the fledgling program. Jordan Muschiama has the best individual finish as he barely missed out on winning the javelin, finishing in second.

Muschiama had a distance of 151'3" (46.1-meters), setting a new personal record and until the final round, sitting in first place. However, Carleton Hunter of Davenport had his final throw land 0.7 meters further than Muschiama to win the event title.

Maxime Joseph also had a second-place finish to his credit, as his distance of 22'1" (6.74 meters) in the long jump left him one spot from a title.  Joseph added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 41'6" (12.65 meters). Bernard Joseph finished just ahead of his brother in the triple jump as he grabbed fourth in the event with a distance of 42'1" (12.83 meters).

Will Cantrell participated in two events as he ran in both the 800-meter run and the 1500-meter run. In the 800, Cantrell finished 19th overall with a time of 2:15.46, while he was 12th in the 1500 with a time of 4:32.

Joining Cantrell in the 1500-meter run were Jim Abrams, who set a personal record with a time of 4:08.77, while Ryan Burmeister finished 13th overall with a time of 4:43.17. Abrams, who was one four-one-hundreths off of the school record, earned a fifth-place finish in the event.

On the women's side, Chloe Metcalf participated in the javelin throw while Adora Morrow had the busiest day overall with three events.

Metcalf finished eighth overall in the javelin with a distance of 85'0" (25.90 meters), while Morrow finished as high as fifth in her events. In the triple jump, Morrow's distance of 30'7" (9.34 meters) left her four spots from the event championship, while she finished in eighth in the long jump (14'7" - 4.64 meters) and 17th in the 200-meter dash (28.79).

With the season coming to a close and many participants returning next season, the future looks bright as Montgomery and his troops look to add more talent, more depth and more events represented in the 2010-11 season for both the indoor and outdoor track season. Next up on the docket: the 2010 cross country slate.
