(Feb. 5, 2010 - Findlay, Ohio) -- Weather usually isn't much of a factor for indoor track, but with the snowstorm that is blanketing the midwest and east coast, the Concordia indoor track team had a longer return ride home than usual as the Cardinals headed down US-23 to participate in the Findlay Open in Ohio. The Cards held their own against a field dominated by NCAA Division II talent as Martell Buchanan finished as high as third (600-meter run) while Max Joseph was fourth in the triple jump.

The day began with Ashley Hart running for the Cardinals in the women's 60-meter dash finishing in a respectable 8.91, which was 30th overall in the preliminaries. Lincoln University grabbed the top four spots with Kirlene Roberts finishing in 7.74 to earn the top spot, but it was teammate Shanna Kay Wright who won the final beating out Roberts by .2 seconds.

Hart would run later in the 200-meter dash and finished 31st overall with a time of 29.92. Brittany Brown of Central Station took home the first-place prize with a time of 25.64.

Hart's day would conclude with the long jump, where the freshman finished in 16th with a distance of 4.09 meters, while Racquel Anderson of Lincoln was the victory as she was the lone competitor to break six-meters with a jump of 6.11-meters.

The men took to action in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash with Dorian Lancaster finishing two spots out of qualification for the finals with a time of 7.33 - a mere .04 off the last qualifier. Lancaster finished in 18th in the event, with Max Joseph grabbing the 30th spot at 7.57.

Mandella Clifford of Lincoln was .02 seconds quicker than teammate Gerald Bascoe in the finals as the two finished 1-2 in the event.

Jordan Muschiama was the lone Card in the men's 200-meter dash as he finished the event in 41st overall with a time of 26.05 with unattached runner Zac Ball winning the event in 22.92 time.

Only two men were quicker on this day than Martell Buchanan in the 600-meter run as the sophomore was third in the event with a time of 1:27.53. Cedarville's Eli Husfelt (1:26.14) and Chance Lauver of Siena Heights (1:26.49) were the only two ahead of Buchanan in the race.

The 800-meter run featured only one Concordia participant in Will Cantrell, whose time of 2:14.21 was good enough to finished 17th overall as Jesiah Rodriguez of Siena Heights won the race with a time of 1:58.23.

Cantrell would be joined by Ryan Burmeister in the 1-mile run with the two finishing neck-and-neck in the 19th and 20th spots respectively. Cantrell would cross at 4:57.37 while Burmeister was a step or two behind at 4:58.59. Jason Headman, an unattached runner, was the winner at 4:22.81.

Lancaster and Joseph would return for the men's long jump, with Lancaster grabbing a sixth place finish while Joseph was 12th overall. Unattached participant Joe Allen had the longest jump - and the only one to clear seven-meters, at 7.65-meters. Lancaster posted a 6.17-meter jump while Joseph finished with a 5.75-meter jump.

The day would conclude with Joseph and the triple jump, where the sophomore would finish fourth overall at 12.04-meters, with Allen again winning the event, this time at 14.50-meters, the only one to even surpass 13-meters.

The remaining event on the indoor slate is the WHAC Championships on February 20 at Trine University in Angola, Indiana.
