(Nov. 7, 2009 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- By placing the top two runners in the WHAC Championship, not only did the Cornerstone Golden Eagles take home the team championship, but they upset crosstown rival Aquinas - who had been ranked nationally in the top 10 for much of the season. For Concordia, Jim Abrams had another strong run as he finished 25th overall with a time of 28:04.

Zach Ripley of Cornerstone took home the individual honor with a time of 25:52, edging teammate Alex Green by five seconds.

Aside from Abrams, the Cardinals had three other runners in the field with Ryan Burmeister being the next to cross at an even 31:00, to earned a 49th place finish. Will Cantrell finished 28 seconds later and finished 51st while Sam Bruer was 57th with a time of 33:50.

The event was the final of the cross country season as many of the runners now will set their focus on the indoor track season.
