(Oct. 24, 2009 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- The final meet of the 2009 fall season for the Concordia cross country team concluded with three runners setting personal best times and two others having one of their better times in their career. The injury-plagued squad was unable to field enough to warrant points for the team competition, but the lack of numbers didn't ruin the efforts of those involved as Ryan Burmeister set a career personal record with a time of 29:19.9, while both female runners (Amanda Hohnstadt, Corrine Kuclo) also set new best times.

While Burmeister finished with a personal best, Jim Abrams was the first Cardinal to cross as he ran his third-best time ever at 27:33.21 in the 8K race, finishing 82nd overall. Burmeister ended the day in 177th place, just ahead of Will Cantrell, whose time of 29:58.74 was his third-best time ever and good enough for the 200th spot overall. Samuel Bruer finished at 33:49.64 which was 244th overall.

Hohnstadt set a new personal record in the women's race as she finished in 20:17.05, which was 73rd overall while Kuclo also set a new best time with her finish of 25:18.74, which was 218th overall.

The race was the final event of the fall season, as most of the runners will now look to their specific events in the indoor and outdoor track seasons.
