(Oct. 3, 2009 - Lansing, Mich.) -- With two runners in the field, the Concordia women's cross country team knew a team championship was out of reach, but the Cardinal runners put forth a valiant effort nonetheless as Amanda Hohnstadt finished with a time of 20:20 to earn a 34th place finish in the Lansing Community College Invitational. Corine Kuclo crossed at a time of 25:48 in the 5K race on a cold and rainy afternoon to pick up the overall 104th place spot.

Lisa Montgomery of the L&L Track Club was the individual champion as she finished three seconds ahead of Ellory Green of the host Stars. Montgomery crossed at 18:27 with Green right behind at 18:30.

With three runners finishing in the top 10 and five in the top 15, the winner of the team championship was Hope College, who edged LCC by one point to win the title.

For Concordia, Hohnstadt's time was a career best for her while Kuclo also registered a personal best with her time.

There are three meets remaining on the fall schedule with the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships up next on Oct. 10.
