(Sept. 28, 2009 - Canton, Mich.) -- The weather was creating adverse conditions throughout the day, and unfortunately the Concordia women's golf team couldn't overcome the rain and wind as the Cardinals finished in seventh on day one of the fourth WHAC Jamboree. The second day will be hosted by Madonna University on Tuesday with the Cards hoping to rebound with a strong effort to move up the standings. Brittany Villa lead Concordia with a 28-over par 100.

Three players tied for the lead after the first day as the trio all shot a 13-over 85. Kelly Sawyer of Siena Heights, Sarah Craycraft of Cornerstone and Caitlin Duval of Davenport are all trying to win the outright individual title after day one.

For Concordia, Kylie Golden finished the first day with a 33-over 105 while Elyse Schlump shot a 121 and Berlynn Beaver 122 at Pheasant Run Golf Course.

The team leader after 18-holes are the Saints of Aquinas College, whose 368 score leads Madonna by two strokes.

The Crusaders will host the second day of the event at Walnut Creek Golf Course in South Lyon, with the event being the final one of the fall season for the women's golf team.
