2009 Women's Soccer Recruits
(May 12, 2009 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- The Concordia women's soccer team added a slew of talent to it's incoming roster when it signed six different players to Letters of Intent recently. The field is well-covered with the signings as they inked a forward, two midfielders, two on defense and a goalkeeper.
Working from the defensive zone forward, the Cardinals signed goalkeeper Brittany Davis of Bowling Green, Ohio. Davis earned three varsity letters, as well as being the team captain and Most Valuable Player. Davis also earned the Coaches Award, was a scholar athlete as was named All-Conference Honorable Mention and Honorable Mention District VI. Davis will be majoring in Physical Education.
On defense, Concordia signed Katie Anderson of Dearborn High School and Kelsie Kaiser of Northville High School.
Anderson was a three-year varsity player serving as her squad's captain her senior season. All three years of her varsity career, Anderson was All-Academic. Anderson will be majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Math.
Kaiser was a member of the National Honors Society as well as German National Honors Society at Northville. Kaiser will be majoring in Pre-Medicine.
The pair of midfielders signed to be Cardinasl are Emily Oprish of Dearborn High School and Monica Palushai on Northville High School.
Oprish was a three-year member of the varsity and was recently named All-City, All-League and All-Academic. Oprish will be majoring in Pre-Medicine.
Palushai will be majoring in Early Childhood Education.
The final signing was forward Laura Johnston of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. Johnston was a member of the Pioneer National Honors Society and was named by the Ann Arbor News as a Top Scholar. Johnston will be majoring in Pre-Medicine.
