(April 25, 2009 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- Max Joseph set a personal record in the long jump and Phil Brown and Tyler Case both set new individual numbers in the 1500-Meter race as the Concordia men's outdoor track and field team had a strong outing at the Aquinas Invitational on Saturday.
 
Joseph, with a jump of 6.06 meters, finished fourth overall for the men - his highest finish of the season with her personal best jump.
 
In addition to his jumping duties, Joseph came back in the 400-Meter Dash, along with Jesse Caddell, for Concordia. Caddell was the first Card to cross as he did so in a time of 56.35 to finish ninth while Joseph finished the race at 57.58 for 11th overall.
 
Case, one of three Cardinal runners in the 1500-meter race, finished 13th overall with a time of 4:25.50 while Ryan Burmeister crossed at 4:36.93 to earn a 16th place overall finish. Brown set a new personal best as he finished at 4:42.29 to win up 18th overall in the race.
 
Two Cards ran in the men's 100-Meter Dash as Adam Behmlander represented Concordia while Antonio Grant ran unattached. Grant was 13th overall with a time of 12.09 while Behmlander was 14th overall at 12.44.
 
Behmlander and Joseph suited up for the men's 200-Meter Dash as well with Behmlander finishing just ahead of his teammate for a 11th place overall finish. Behmlander crossed at a time of 25.40 while Josepg was less than a half second behind at 25.66 for 12th overall.
 
Grant and Joseph participated in the final event for the Cards as Grant again was unattached while Joseph was the official Concordia-entry in the men's triple jump. Grant was second overall with a jump of 11.84 meters while Joseph, and three other jumpers, were disqualified with fouls on their attempts.
 
The men will participate in the final outdoor event of the season at the WHAC Championships on May 1 at Olivet College.
