(April 18, 2009 - Ypsilanti, Mich.) -- The Concordia track & field squad headed down the road Saturday to participate in the Eastern Michigan Twilight and did quite well for themselves in a field of some of the top programs in the state.
 
On the men's side, Adam Behmlander got things off in the 100 Meter race, finishing with a time of 12.23 to earn a 32nd place overall finish. Behmlander would return in the 200 Meter race, and with a time of 24.71, finished in 37th overall and fourth for the Cardinals.
 
Also in the 200M, was Martell Buchanan, the team's top finisher and 26th overall, with a time of 23.60; Maxime Joseph, whose time of 23.92 was good for 30th; Jordan Muschiana, who cross at 24.58 to earn the 36th spot and Jesse Caddell, the final Cardinal runner in the event with a time of 25.12 and a 38th place finish.
 
Joseph and Caddell would also run in the 400 Meter event with Joseph edging out his teammate by a little more than a second. Joseph, who finished in 29th, crossed with a time of 53.24, while Caddell was 31st with a time of 54.48.
 
The foursome of Buchanan, Tyler Case, Ryan Burmeister and Philip Brown ran in both the 800 Meter race and the 1500 Meter race. Buchanan was the first Card to finish in both races, as he was 33rd in the 800M (2:05.45) and 43 in the 1500M with a time of 4:27.94. Case earned second-place team finishes in both races as he cross a little more than three second behind Buchanan in the 800M (2:08.82 - 36th) and less than three ticks in the 1500M (4:30.06 - 45th). Burmeister earned a 39th place finish in the 800M (2:13.39) and a 46th spot in the 1500M (4:31.41); while Brown was 40th in the 800M (2:20.52) and 51st in the 1500M (4:44.87).
 
Muschiana, in addition to the 200 Meter race, also represented Concordia in the 110 Meter Hurdles and finishd 15th overall with a time of 17.11.
 
The last male participant was John Alderson, who picked up a 24th place finish in the shot put, with a distance of 11.41 meters.
 
The women had participants in three events as Adora Morrow ran in the 100 Meter race with Chloe Metcalf and in the 200 Meter race with Courtney Willis.
 
In the 100M, Morrow was 28th overall with a time of 13.86 while finishing in 39th in the 200M with a time of 28.70. Metcalf was 31st in the 100M with a time of 14.12, while Willis was 40th in the 200M with a time of 29.42.
 
Both Metcalf and Willis joined Johanna Barz in the long jump. Willis was the team's top finisher with a distance of 4.54 meters and a 15th overall finish while Metcalf was one position behind with a 4.18 meter-jump. Barz finished in 18th overall with a jump of 3.82 meters.
 
Concordia's track and field program will next participate in the Gina Invitational, hosted by Hillsdale University, on April 25.
