(December 4, 2008 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- The Concordia University Athletic Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Volleyball Coach. The Cardinals, coming off their two best seasons in the past decade, will be returning a nucleus of players that will be able to build upon their success and hopefully move further up the Wolverine-Hooser Athletic Conference standings.
After three seasons at the helm, Dan Kirchhoff resigned his position in November and will remain at the university as a professor.
"We thank Dan for the contributions he has made to the program and we wish him the best in his new pursuits," said Athletic Director Ben Limback. "We now feel that the program is a position where the right individual can help take the volleyball team to even greater heighths."
Concordia will be losing only two players, albeit two quality seniors in Erica Manning and Shawna Dorton, but the returning players have already made their impact and the expectations within the team are to continue their dominance in non-conference matches and build upon their success within the extremely tough WHAC, a conference that has two teams currently playing in the national tournament.
Application information can be found under the "Employment" link on the Concordia University Athletic Department website. Applications will be accepted until January 1 and review of applications will begin immediately.
