(November 8, 2008 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference hosted it's conference cross country meet in Grand Rapids on Saturday and the conditions couldn't have been more unfavorable. There was rain, then sleet. There was frigid temperatures and slick footing. But nonetheless, the runners headed out and Concordia finished in seventh overall with Jim Abrams (Fr. - Monroe, Mich.) leading the pack with a time of 28:34.34 in the 8K. The time earned Abram's a 40th place finish out of 63 runners.
 
Christopher Leikert of Aquinas edged teammate Robert Veldman to earn the individual title. Leikert crossed at a time of 25:38.84, with Veldman finishing at 25:41.38.
 
The duo helped the host Saints win the team portion of the race, with Indiana Tech and Siena Heights finishing second and third respectively.
 
Following Abrams for Concordia was Tyler Case (So. - Cedar Springs, Mich.) who had a time of 29:40.49 to earn the 50th position and the distinction of the last runner to finish under a half-hour. Ryan Burmeister (Fr. - Muskegon, Mich.) was the next harrier to cross and did so at a time of 30:24.83, good for 51st overall.
 
Other Cardinal times were: Philip Brown (56th - 30:59.07), Steven Lestock (59th - 31:30.20), Michael Haiderer (60th - 31:44.17), and Sam Bruer (62nd - 31:50.11).
