(November 8, 2008 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- On a cold, rainy miserable day the women's cross country team headed to west Michigan to run in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference meet. Gwen VanDerworp (So. - Milford, Mich.) continued her strong season as she lead the Cardinal effort with a time of 21:04.68, to finish in 32nd out of a field of 55 runners.

Alissa McKaig of Indiana Tech won the individual portion of the race with a time of 17:39.07. The Warriors had five runners finish in the top six with Amanda Strouse of Aquinas being the only non-Indiana Tech runner to be in the first half dozen racers as she finished second with a time of 18:45.42.

Obviously, Indiana Tech won the team portion of the race with Aquinas finishing second on their home course.

For Concordia, Cree Thompson (Fr. - Detroit, Mich.) finished in 46th with a time of 23:39.65 while the Cardinal's third runner, Sarah Card (So. - Cadillac, Mich.) crossed at 26:28.40 for a 54th place finish.
