(October 20, 2008 - Bowling Green, Ohio) -- Gwendolyn VanDerworp (So. - Milford, Mich.) set two personal best times as she finished in 56th at the Bowling Green Falcon Invitational Saturday afternoon. Vanderworp crossed at 24:39.28 - less than three minutes off the lead of Kara Butler of the host Falcons who win the individual portion with a time of 21:41.15. VanDerworp was fifth overall when considering runners with an NAIA affiliation.
Sarah Card (So. - Cadillac, Mich.) finished the race in 114th overall as the sophomore crossed the line at 30:37.80 for the Cardinals.
The host Falcons of Bowling Green won the team portion of the race with Notre Dame College (eighth overall) edging Siena Heights University (ninth overall) to earn the distinction of highest finishing NAIA program. With only two runners in the field, the Cardinals were not eligible for the team portion.
Two events remain on the fall docket for Concordia: the WHAC Championships on Nov. 8 and the NAIA Nationals on Nov. 22.
