(August 8, 2008 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- Officials from the Development Office of Concordia University and the coaching staff of the Cardinal Baseball program decided on Thursday to postpone the baseball golf outing scheduled for Monday, August 11 and combine that outing with the university's general golf outing scheduled for Monday, September 8, also at the Polo Fields Golf and Country Club in Ann Arbor.
"We were unable to get the amount of sponsors we wanted in such a short time, and the general outing for the entire university still had spots they needed to fill," said Karl Kling, head baseball coach. "Since they needed bodies, and we needed sponsors, we both could offer the other something to make one outing far more profitable then two separate outings. It just made more sense financially."
Individuals who purchased a spot for the baseball golf outing will be transferred to the September 8 date unless their schedule prohibits their attendance. A full refund will be given to individuals who cannot make the rescheduled date.
"None of the individuals who I talked to had a problem with the change of dates," said Kling. "It just shows the amount fo support we have with our families and fans. We just have a great group of people dedicated to helping us raise the necessary funds to provide the best for our players."
