(November 3, 2007 - Grand Rapids, Mich.) -- The cross country season came to an end at the NAIA Regional hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids Saturday afternoon and the Concordia Cardinals stuggled in their final meet.
Gwen VandeWorp was the lone female entry for Concordia and the freshman crossed the finish line at 20:47, which was only 2:50 off the lead runner but landed her in 80th place.
The men finished in 14th place out the 14 teams competing with Zakary Noles finishing a respectable 48th with a time of 27:06.94 while the rest of the Cardinal entries struggled in the 8k race at Riverside Park. Tyler Case (30:43.63 - 118th) was the next Concordia runner to cross, followed by Steve Schmit (31:00.03 - 122nd), Michael Haiderer (31:12.63 - 125th), Sam Bruer (31:59.52 - 132nd) and John Alderson (42:53.89 - 140th).
