(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia University and WTKA The Ticket will renew their partnership for the 2017-18 athletic seasons with the production of Cardinals Corner. This is the fourt year of the agreement that helps promote CUAA Athletics to the greater Ann Arbor area. The first show will air on Wednesday, August 30th at 6pm.
"Cardinals Corner has been a huge success for us at Concordia," Director of Athletics Lonnie Pries commented. "It's a great example of how CUAA has become a part of the local community and how the community has grown to support us. Ira along with the WTKA staff have been awesome to work with and have become great friends of the University and our athletic department.
Each Cardinals Corner program includes three segments with interviews typically from a student-athlete, Concordia coach, and Lonnie Pries. The lineup of interviews gives the show a variety of views and a complete update of Cardinal Athletics.
The program is hosted by WTKA's Ira Weintraub whose passion for local sports is evident in every broadcast. "Cardinals Corner is one of my favorite hours of the week. I love informing the Ann Arbor community about the great things happening at Concordia both on and off the field. Ann Arborites should take great pride in what is being accomplished on that beautiful campus on Geddes. It's my pleasure to help showcase the student-athletes and coaches who are putting in a lot of time and hard work to accomplish great things for the Cardinals, their fans and their alumni."
Cardinals Corner will be broadcasted every Wednesday evening throughout the academic year beginning at 6:00 p.m. on WTKA 1050AM. The program will also be streamed online at www.wtka.com and available by podcast shortly after the show is over. Fan can also subscribe to the Cardinals corner podcasts.
