Standout high school golfer from Lutheran High Northwest, Rebecca Johnstone will continue her academic and athletic career at Concordia University. As a three sport athlete for the Crusaders, Johnstone was a varsity member of softball, basketball, and golf. Johnstone was team captain of the women's golf team and qualified for the state tournament her senior year.
Not only did Johnston excel athletically, but she made academics a strong priority as well. She received the academic award every year which is given to student-athletes at Lutheran High Northwest that maintain a certain GPA. Chris Johnstone, Rebecca's father and golf coach, has enjoyed watching her golf game improve over the last couple of years and excited to see her growth at Concordia moving forward.
After his first season as the Head Women's Golf Coach, Bryan Grzesiek continues to lay the foundational pieces for the program. The team showed growth and improvement throughout the fall and spring seasons. Coach Grzesiek continues to stress the importance of skill development through repetitions at the course.
Johnston plans on majoring in physical education and will join her sister, Grace, who will be finishing her Sophomore year at Concordia this week.
