(September 1, 2007 - Olivet, Mich.) -- The 2007 Fall golf season opened this weekend at the Lou Collins Classic hosted by Olivet College with the Concordia team struggling to a last place finish after the event's two rounds. Bill Dorow (Jr. - Waterloo, NY) lead the Cards with a two-round 175, which left him in a tie for 78th for the tournament.
 
Newcomers filled out the rest of the Concordia field with Kevin Maust finishing two strokes behind Dorow with a 36-hole total of 177 (tied for 82nd). After a strong first-day total of 85, transfer Tim Morgan struggled on Saturday as he shot a 96 which dropped him to 86th in the tournament with a total of 181. Mike Music (193 - 89th) and Bobby Morrison (195 - 90th) rounded out the Concordia field.
 
All told, the Cardinals shot a two-day total of 716, which was 124 strokes off the lead from tournament victor and host school Olivet College, whose nearest competitor, Bethel College, finished a distant 17 strokes behind. The Cards shot 355 on day one and 361 on Saturday to finish 148 strokes over par.
 
The event featured two other conference teams in Aquinas College (10th place - 635) and Siena Heights University (8th - 628) as the WHAC season begins on September 12 in Grand Rapids as Cornerstone University hosts the first league jamboree.
