Women's Golf - Thu, Sep. 25, 2014
(Fort Wayne, IN) - The Women's golf team travelled down to Fort Wayne, IN on Wednesday to compete in the 3rd WHAC tournament of the season. The event was hosted by Indiana Tech at the beautiful Coyote Creek Golf Course.
Even though the team was short a girl from qualifying for a team score in the event, each of the three Cardinals stepped up and competed on an individual basis. Freshman, Daniela Perez (FR/Belleville, MI), finished strong on her birthday with a score of 101. Junior Emily Bearman (JR/Ypsilanti, MI) also shot a 101 for the Cards.
Head Coach Berlynn Beaver remarked that "both girls are making great strides to improve their golf game. I am confident in their ability to be even more competitive as the season rolls on."
Sophomore Melissa Greener (SO/Fort Wayne, IN) brought in the low score for the Cards with a 94. "Working on her confidence and consistency will be key to making her an even better golfer," Coach Beaver stated.
The Lady Cards tee off next at Golden Fox in Plymouth, MI on Tuesday, September 30th at 11am. The event will mark the 4th conference event this season and will be hosted by Madonna University. Cardinal Crazies come on out and support your Lady Cardinals.
